Labor & Employment Attorney, Laura Alaniz, Joins Liskow in Houston
Liskow is pleased to announce that Laura Alaniz has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice in the Houston office. She joins from Spencer Fane LLP, where she was a partner in the labor and employment group.
“We are excited to welcome Laura to the firm,” said Michael D. Rubenstein, a shareholder in Houston and member of the firm’s Board of Directors. “She is a highly regarded labor and employment attorney whose broad range of experience brings additional depth to our labor & employment team.”
With more than 25 years of experience, Laura is a skilled litigator and advisor representing employers in all types of employment disputes, including defending employers in lawsuits involving claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, and discrimination and suits for violations of state and federal statutes such as Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, and the Texas Labor Code.
In addition to advising employers and their leadership regarding compliance issues, Laura has represented clients in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and investigated and drafted position statements in such proceedings.

Laura is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in labor and employment law. She earned her JD from Baylor University School of Law and her B.S., with High Honors and Special Honors in Speech Communication, from the University of Texas. She has also completed Executive Education in Women’s Leadership at Harvard Law School.

Maritime In-House Counsel Chelsea Crews Joins Liskow in New Orleans

Most recently, Chelsea served as Associate Counsel at the world’s third largest ocean carrier where she held both litigation and commercial titles while also advising on regulatory matters and providing general legal support to the business.
Ms. Crews has litigated complex and high-stakes matters for clients of all types, from vessel owners in commercial disputes to a state government in a billion-dollar allision case. C.J. Miller Rejoins Liskow’s Corporate, Real Estate and Banking & Finance Practices
Liskow is pleased to announce that Cody “C.J.” J. Miller has rejoined the firm as a shareholder in its Corporate, Real Estate and Banking & Finance practices in Lafayette after serving as Assistant General Counsel for one of the largest healthcare systems in Louisiana. Prior to moving in-house, Mr. Miller was an associate with the firm.
Mr. Miller has extensive experience advising clients on commercial finance, secured transactions, commercial real estate, and general business matters, as well as succession and fiduciary administration. Shareholder Erin Bambrick, a high-level environmental litigator, was recently selected as an honoree for the 2025 Women of the Year Class by New Orleans CityBusiness, which recognizes women whose successes in business and contributions to the community have made them movers and shakers in the region.
Erin was chosen because she is a vital part of Liskow’s environmental law and litigation strategy team and has provided leadership in empowering women in the energy sector, expanding the thoughtful use of legal technology, and working with other lawyers to raise funds for pro bono work in our community.
The publication will feature Erin in the November 15th issue and during an event on Nov. 3rd at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
