Liskow is pleased to announce that Laura Alaniz has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice in the Houston office. She joins from Spencer Fane LLP, where she was a partner in the labor and employment group.

With more than 25 years of experience, Laura is a skilled litigator and advisor representing employers in all types of employment disputes, including defending employers in lawsuits involving claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, and discrimination and suits for violations of state and federal statutes such as Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, and the Texas Labor Code.
In addition to advising employers and their leadership regarding compliance issues, Laura has represented clients in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and investigated and drafted position statements in such proceedings.

Laura is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in labor and employment law. She earned her JD from Baylor University School of Law and her B.S., with High Honors and Special Honors in Speech Communication, from the University of Texas. She has also completed Executive Education in Women’s Leadership at Harvard Law School.
