At Liskow we represent clients in the most tragic of situations. Our personal injury practice involves catastrophic injuries and death. We regularly represent oil companies, pipeline companies, refineries and manufacturers. We recognize that in these tragic situations, our client is often viewed as the villain, before a single fact is known. In order to successfully defend our clients in these cases, knowledge of the law and the facts in simply not enough. We understand that in addition to our in depth knowledge of the law and the facts of each case, our lawyers must also exhibit two other essential qualities: empathy and credibility.
Overview
Liskow trial lawyers understand that in order for a judge or jury to find that our client was not at fault, they must first know that we recognize that a tragedy has occurred. They must see that we truly understand what the injured or deceased victim and their families have been through, and are yet to go through. We recognized that without this empathy, there is no reasonable expectation that the judge or jury will be open to hearing our clients’ explanation of how that tragedy occurred.
Empathy alone, however, is not enough to be able to convey our clients’ message. At Liskow we strongly believe that credibility is key. We know that in order to have credibility, we must speak to our jurors – not at them. Our task is to show our jurors that they can trust us by honestly and plainly conveying the facts in a passionate and persuasive way. We believe that it is this “honest, passionate persuasion” that sets Liskow apart. We take the time and make the effort to dispel the jury’s view of our clients as faceless villains, allowing them to see the actual, caring people who make up those companies, so that the facts, not unfair stereotypes, carry the day.
