Our CCUS team can assist with the entire life cycle of your CCUS project.

Overview

We are your one-stop shop for CCUS. We help with every step towards implementation of CCUS projects, from initial land questions through regulatory permitting and beyond, whether your project is for geologic sequestration or enhanced recovery.

Our diverse team can help craft and negotiate your property agreements with private landowners and governmental owners. We will work with your land team to resolve any title questions or ownership issues associated with those agreements. Where necessary, our team can also help navigate expropriation processes.

We will work in parallel to ensure that you receive the regulatory permissions necessary to test and operate your project, including injection well permitting, public hearing procedures related to storage facilities, and unitization for enhanced recovery projects.

As your project moves closer to operation, we can work to manage your risks through appropriate insurance and indemnity agreements.

We are also well prepared to help form the business entities associated with your project, plan tax strategies, and lobby for changes to the laws applicable to your projects.

The CCUS space is dynamic and developing rapidly. Our team members are heavily involved with those ongoing developments. We regularly speak before industry groups and post online educational content for CCUS issues, and we closely monitor and inform our clients of recent developments as they happen.

  • Assisting multiple, well-established energy clients with evaluation and implementation of the early stages of their CCUS projects in various locations within the State of Louisiana.

We are known for these strengths

  • Vast experience with title examination and ownership issues.
  • Regulatory experience and familiarity with specific agencies that handle CCUS.
  • Focus on practical solutions.
