Overview

Tom Diaz is the former head of the firm’s maritime and casualty practice, with his focus being on the energy and insurance sectors. He assists domestic and overseas clients in civil litigation as well as state and federal regulatory matters. His clients are often U.S. corporations facing exposures arising from incidents in the Gulf of Mexico as well as onshore facilities along the Gulf coast and the Mississippi River.

Tom has practiced maritime and insurance law for over 35 years and has supported clients with their onshore and offshore investigations, regulatory compliance matters, and civil litigation following incidents such as

• Vessel collisions/allisions and vessel sinkings
• Accidents aboard exploration and production facilities
• Hydrocarbon releases both near shore and in deep water
• Crane collapses and accidents at marine terminals and on MODUs
• Serious personal injuries and wrongful deaths
