Diverse and Engaged Culture

Liskow is committed to the continued development of a diverse and inclusive culture, and the firm prides itself on the pivotal roles women and minorities play in the growth of the firm. The firm is constantly introducing new initiatives and raising the bar on current efforts to recruit, hire, promote, and retain diverse employees.

The firm also has deep and meaningful involvement in the community. Lawyers and staff participate as board members of community and charitable organizations, educational organizations, legal organizations, religious organizations, youth organizations, and neighborhood associations. In addition, the firm and its employees are very involved with United Way and are “Top Contributors” to the organization through an annual firm campaign.

Liskow also encourages lawyers and staff to participate in pro bono and other community outreach efforts. The firm believes pro bono work is a professional responsibility and essential in order to advance the legal standing of diverse and historically underserved populations. To this end, the firm fosters an environment in which individual lawyers are encouraged to embrace this responsibility through pro bono work. Not only do these efforts contribute to the fabric of the firm’s communities, but pro bono initiatives also provide a rich experience for associates, enhancing a personal professional framework.

Wellbeing

Mental health is a priority at Liskow, and the firm offers educational resources to its employees as well as access to direct support. Liskow’s Employee Assistance Program offers counseling services to employees and dependents, which are immediate, confidential, and available 24/7. Employees also have access to a personal nurse to provide education specific to health and healthy lifestyle tips. The personal nurse helps employees identify health goals, explore treatment options, and guides employees to resources so that employees can make informed decisions about their health. Furthermore, the personal nurse provides a sounding board to help gain health control. Mental health services are also available through the firm’s medical carrier and include diagnostic evaluations/assessments, treatment planning, referral services, medication management, individual and family therapeutic group management services, and crisis intervention and are available on an inpatient or outpatient basis in a hospital, alternate facility, or a provider’s office.
