“I believe my client expect and deserve the highest degree of responsiveness and attention to detail. The work we do demands this; and I strive to exceed expectations.”

Overview

Hunter Chauvin assists major energy companies in environmental litigation, with a concentration on legacy lawsuits and coastal land loss issues. He has worked with experts across the globe to defend environmental lawsuits, which has allowed him to develop a deep working knowledge of the complex scientific issues underpinning these cases. He has been entrusted to represent clients in major bellwether environmental cases. Hunter’s practice also includes working with regulators at the department of natural resources and other agencies on behalf of energy companies to resolve regulatory disputes.

Regularly working with in-house counsel, Hunter has handled commercial disputes for energy companies related to wells from New Mexico through Texas into Louisiana.

Recognizing Hunter’s unique knowledge of environmental issues and the impacts of policy on industry, the Louisiana Senate appointed him to a task force to evaluate the potential impacts of the blossoming carbon capture and sequestration industry.  Hunter is also on the steering committee of an exclusive Energy & Natural Resources Group that connects energy lawyers across the globe.
