Liskow is proud to announce it has been honored with the Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) 2026 “Friend of Pro Bono” Award, presented at the Pro Bono Publico and Children’s Law Awards ceremony on May 19, 2026, at the Louisiana Supreme Court. The award recognizes attorneys and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to expanding access to justice for those in need.
“We are truly honored by this recognition,” said Cherrell Simms Taplin, Liskow shareholder and Co-Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. “Pro bono reflects who we are as a firm, and it is especially meaningful to have that work recognized at the Louisiana Supreme Court.”
Liskow maintains a robust pro bono commitment throughout its practice, spearheaded by a culture of service that empowers its attorneys to bridge the justice gap. The firm is steadfast in its “Adopt-a-Month” participation in the Self-Help Resource Center and has contributed a significant amount of donated legal hours to litigating pro bono cases. Beyond direct representation, Liskow’s attorneys provide vital leadership through board service with The Pro Bono Project and play a key role in the organization’s Justice For All Ball fundraising efforts.
“What distinguishes Liskow is its firm-wide culture of service. Pro bono is not treated as an extracurricular activity — it is embraced as a professional responsibility and a core value,” said C.C. Kahr, Executive Director of The Pro Bono Project who nominated Liskow for the award. “The firm encourages participation, celebrates service internally, and consistently partners with The Pro Bono Project to respond to evolving community needs. Their partnership strengthens not only our organization, but the legal profession as a whole.”
