Kelly Scalise, a shareholder in the  New Orleans office of Liskow, has been elected to the National Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association.

Kelly will be sworn in at the Federal Bar Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting and Convention on September 16 during the organization’s National Council Meeting.

She has held numerous positions with the Federal Bar Association since 2001, including Admiralty Law Section, Chair and Co-Founder (2015-2017); New Orleans Chapter President (2016-2017); Younger Lawyers Division, Chair; Law Student Division Task Force Co-Chair;  Section and Division Council; Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition Co-Director; and The Federal Lawyer Editorial Board.

Kelly’s practice focuses on claims on behalf of international and domestic clients in the energy sector.  She represents business entities, both defending and asserting claims involving: admiralty, insurance and indemnity issues, tort defense, products liability, personal injuries, offshore drilling, and legacy contamination. She has represented clients in admiralty and land-based tort actions and other complex litigation.

The Federal Bar Association, founded in 1920, is dedicated to the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law. Our members run the gamut of federal practice: attorneys practicing in small to large legal firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary. The FBA is the catalyst for communication between the bar and the bench, as well as the private and public sectors.
