Overview

Jonathan Fox is a litigator, who focuses his practice on high-stakes and complex energy matters. He has a wide breadth of experience with various issues that affect the energy industry, including legacy litigation, lease disputes, royalty claims, and coastal land loss. He also has significant experience in defending against claims brought under the Louisiana Environmental Quality Act.

Jonathan is an active member of the Institute for Energy Law (IEL).

Notable Experience

  • In Louisiana state and federal court, Jonathan has defended energy companies against claims brought by landowners seeking tens of millions of dollars in damages for alleged oilfield contamination resulting from decades of oil and gas production
  • In Louisiana state and federal court, Jonathan has defended energy companies against claims brought by landowners under the Louisianan Environmental Quality Act
  • Jonathan has also defended energy companies against claims by State and parish governments that seek damages and restoration for land loss allegedly caused by non-compliance with environmental permits
