Spencer is an associate in the firm’s corporate group who focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial finance, private equity, and securities law. He also has experience representing clients in debt restructuring, workouts, and bankruptcy proceedings. Spencer has advised public and privately-held companies in a wide range of business transactions, including asset sales, stock purchases, real estate acquisitions, credit agreements, securities law compliance, marine finance, maritime regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and new business formation. Spencer provides broad support to the firm’s corporate group and has experience negotiating and drafting contracts, managing due diligence, and solving problems for clients with creativity and efficiency.
Spencer received his Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School where he served as a Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and received awards for academic excellence and writing. Before joining the firm, Spencer was a law clerk for United States District Judge Martin L. C. Feldman in the Eastern District of Louisiana.
