Overview

Rob Theriot has helped oil and gas clients navigate tough legal issues in trials and transactions for over 25 years.  He has handled matters before state and federal trial and appellate courts in Texas, Louisiana, North Dakota and other major shale basin states.   Rob has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts involving oil and gas development, joint operations, marketing, midstream systems, acquisitions and other related transactions.

Much of his current work is focused on the growing challenges facing producers in unconventional shale plays.  He has earned a reputation for handling complex, seemingly intractable problems – “The ones that keep people up at night," as he puts it.

He combines years of industry experience with a knack for creativity and a cooperative, practical, and efficient approach to problem solving.   “If you want someone just to jump in and throw some punches to see what happens – I’m probably not your guy … But, if you want to actually solve your problems and start scratching things off your “to-do” list, I can probably help.”

"Raising two teenagers with my wife, Laura, is a humbling experience which keeps me grounded.  On my time, I enjoy time in my workshop and tending to my garden.   Laura tells me I should hire carpenters, plumbers, mechanics and landscapers – but I guess it’s my nature to want to grow, build and repair things myself."
