Maddie has a diverse transactional practice, which includes onshore and offshore oil and gas projects, real property acquisitions and divestitures, various stages of business transactions, and intellectual property protections.
Maddie has experience drafting and negotiating oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, assignments, surface use and access agreements, easements, midstream agreements, production handling agreements, and other transactional documents. She has represented a variety of clients, from landowners to major producers, in all phases of energy exploration, development, and production, ranging from title matters to complex litigation.
Maddie is familiar with the overlap between energy law and environmental law, specifically as it pertains to carbon capture and sequestration and renewable energy sources. She is also knowledgeable about federal and state regulatory issues that pertain to the energy industry and has prior trial experience.
Maddie has counseled clients on a variety of corporate issues including entity formation, purchase and sale agreements, mergers, winding down and dissolution. She has experience with due diligence, corporate documents, bankruptcy and re-organization proceedings, start-up business practices, and secured transactions. Maddie also works on a range of intellectual property matters, including trademark protections and licensing.
Maddie represents both buyers and sellers throughout the deal process, handling title and survey issues, deeds, leases, reservations, exchanges, and closing logistics for companies, individuals, landlords, and commercial tenants.
