Overview

A’Dair Flynt is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice. She received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2016, where she served as a member of the Louisiana Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

She received both her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, and her Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. Upon receiving her B.A. degree, she was also awarded the University Medal.

Experience

  • With James Brown of our firm, defending one of the largest actuarial firms against professional malpractice claims brought by the Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance, as Receiver of a failed Affordable Care Act insurance cooperative (2020);
  • With Tommy McGoey of our firm, in a wage and hour dispute brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Louisiana Wage Payment Act, obtained dismissal of collective and class claims and summary judgment as to remaining individual claims (2020);
  • With James Brown and Tommy McGoey of our firm, successfully defended a Louisiana concessions company in an employment discrimination class action lawsuit and prosecuted a bad faith/coverage suit against its employment practices liability insurer (2019); 
  • With James Brown and Shannon Holtzman of our firm, successfully opposed a complex remand motion under the Tax Injunction Act and the Class Action Fairness Act and obtained a dismissal with prejudice of all claims against a national law firm arising from its tax collections work for the city of New Orleans.  See Robert J. Caluda, APLC, et al v. The City of New Orleans, Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, L.L.P, and United Governmental Services of Louisiana, Inc., No. 19-2497, 2019 WL 3283138 (E.D. La. July 22, 2019) (denying motion for remand and finding diversity jurisdiction under CAFA, determining that several CAFA exceptions did not apply, as well as federal question jurisdiction), 2019 WL 3291014 (granting Rule 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss and securing dismissal of all claims with prejudice) (2019); 
  • Successfully argued and obtained dismissal of an appeal before the Louisiana First Circuit (2019);
  • With James Brown of our firm, successfully defended a Louisiana financial institution against contractual and tort claims by a discharged senior officer (2018);
  • With James Brown and Philip Dore of our firm, successfully defended a leading national motor fuel retailer and distributor against suits by a New Orleans retail chain seeking to invalidate distribution contracts (2017).
